Free Meals for Children in Furunzi
In the Furunzi slum area, where Bring Life Mission serves, many families live with a constant lack of food. For children, this is not just hunger—it is a reality where even one hot meal can make a life-changing difference.
This is exactly why our free feeding program began.
Denis was not a tourist or a random visitor in this region. He lived among the people, saw their situation without filters, and faced the truth every day: for many families, hunger is not a headline from the news—it is part of normal life.
It was especially painful to see children growing up with ongoing food shortages. That is why in 2017 Denis began feeding children using his own resources. He personally purchased and delivered the food, and Madam Eunice, a school teacher, cooked the meals. This is how a ministry began—one that continues to this day.
Over time, this simple act of love grew into a consistent free feeding program. Today, Bring Life Mission provides daily meals for students at the school, so children can not only study, but also receive the support they need for health, growth, and proper development.
By the end of the 2025 school year, 250 children were receiving meals. Our current goal is to provide a daily hot lunch for 400 children from low-income families in Furunzi.
We have analyzed the feeding costs. On average, daily meals for one child cost about $8 per month without meat. If meat is included a few times per week, the cost is about $10 per month. This includes food supplies, firewood, basic household items, serving utensils, and transportation for закупки.
$10 per month provides a daily hot meal for 1 child in Furunzi.
$100 per month provides a daily hot meal for 10 children.
To expand this vision, in 2023 Bring Life Mission built a kitchen on the school grounds and purchased a stove. The foundation for growth is already in place. The main need today is financial support for purchasing food and covering the wages of kitchen workers.
What a Meal Gives a Child
Over the years, this feeding program has truly changed lives. When we return to Furunzi, we meet young men and women who once received hot meals here as children. For many of them, these meals were not simply food, but real help that allowed them to grow, stay healthier, and make it through a very difficult season of life.
Every meal also gives a child a sense of stability and safety — the assurance that they will go to bed full, even if their parents were unable to earn anything or bring food home that day.
By supporting this program, you help children receive not only food, but also the strength to learn, grow, and move forward.
Join Bring Life Mission’s daily feeding program. Together, we can show God’s love in action by caring for children who need it most.
