Become a Mission Volunteer
Volunteers serve children and families in Kenya and help with our outreach in the USA. Fill in a short form.
We always need helping hands
Serve with us
There is always a need for people in the mission: those who will come to the field in Kenya and those who will serve in our programs in the USA. Joining is simple:
1
Fill out the application
Tell us about yourself: name, contacts, social media links, your experience and the ministries you are interested in. Only two fields are required — your name and email.
2
We get to know each other
We will review your application, contact you in the way that suits you best, answer your questions and choose the project, format and timing together.
3
You serve
On your own or as part of one of the teams that regularly visit us. We will help you prepare for the trip and meet you on site.
Two directions — USA and Kenya

Tell us about yourself
Volunteer application
Only two fields are required — your name and email. Everything else is optional, but the more you share, the easier it will be for us to get to know you and suggest the ministry that fits you best.
Links to your social media help us know you better, and a contact of someone who can recommend you — for example, your pastor or ministry leader — will speed up the introduction.
Your application data is never published — we use it only to communicate with you.
Getting ready for your trip
Volunteer guide: how to come to Kenya
Kenya is a tourist-friendly country, and coming here is easier than it seems. Here is what you need to know before traveling to our base.
📍 Where we are
Our main mission base is in Malindi, a town on the Indian Ocean coast (Coast Region), about 120 km northeast of Mombasa.
- Flights: to Nairobi (NBO), then a domestic flight to Malindi (MYD) or Mombasa (MBA).
- We will meet you and help with transfer and accommodation.
- Mission schools, Furunzi and most of our projects are nearby.
💉 Health and insurance
- Visit your doctor or a travel clinic 4–6 weeks before the trip.
- A yellow fever certificate is required only if you arrive from a country with transmission risk; it is usually not needed when flying directly from the USA or Europe.
- Malaria prophylaxis and repellents are recommended for the coast.
- Get travel medical insurance and drink bottled water.
🌡 Climate and clothing
- Malindi is hot and humid all year round: about +26…+32 °C (79–90 °F).
- The rainy season is April–June, but ministry continues.
- Bring light, modest clothing: we serve in churches, schools and villages.
- A hat, sunscreen and comfortable closed shoes will come in handy.
💳 Money and connectivity
- The currency is the Kenyan shilling (KSh); it is handy to have both cash and a card.
- Almost all local payments go through M-Pesa — we will help you figure it out.
- A local SIM card (Safaricom) gives you affordable internet.
- Sockets are British type G, 240 V — you will need an adapter.
How to get your eTA — travel authorization
Instead of a visa, Kenya uses the eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) — an online permit that takes just a few minutes to apply for:
- Check your passport. It must be valid for at least 6 months after your arrival date and have at least one blank page.
- Apply on the official website etakenya.go.ke at least 1–2 weeks before departure. You will need: the application form, a photo, a passport scan, a return ticket and proof of accommodation — we will provide an invitation and the base address.
- Pay the fee by card — about 30–35 USD. Apply only through the official website: third-party services charge more.
- Receive your eTA by email — usually within 1–3 business days. Save the PDF on your phone and print a copy.
- At the border, show your passport and eTA. The length of stay (usually up to 90 days) is determined by the officer at entry.
Entry rules may change. Before buying tickets, check the current requirements on the official website etakenya.go.ke — and we will help with all the documents on the mission side.
Alone or with a team
Come on your own — or join a group
Teams from churches and organizations visit us regularly. If you are not ready to travel alone, mention it in the application and we will suggest joining one of the upcoming groups.
- Short-term mission (1–3 weeks) — get to know the field and serve in a specific project;
- long-term mission (a month or more) — dive deeper into the life of the base and its projects;
- serving in the USA — join Outreach programs on their schedule, no long flights needed.
