The journey behind a new water well: from the first site visit to the first flow

A finished water well can look simple, but behind every one of them is a long process involving planning, construction, logistics, and many hours of work.

For Bring Life Mission, the work begins long before drilling equipment arrives. Our team personally visits every potential location together with our contractor. We study the area, meet the people who live there, learn about the community’s water needs, and coordinate the project with local authorities. Only after the location is approved do we move forward.

While drilling is underway, another part of the team is already purchasing and transporting the materials needed for construction. Once a reliable underground water source is reached, the above-ground water station begins to take shape.

One of the most important features of our wells is that they are designed to operate independently of the electrical grid. A submersible pump is powered by solar panels, while a large storage tank keeps water available as part of the complete system.

And even when the structure looks finished, the work is not over. The pump, solar system, electrical connections, pipes, plumbing, and taps all have to be installed and connected. The system is tested again and again before we consider the well ready for the community.

Only then comes opening day—when the community gathers together, the taps are opened, clean water begins to flow, and people can share directly how this new source of water will change their daily lives.

This carousel presents the journey of Well #34, but the same care, presence, and attention go into every well we build—from the first visit to the first flow of water.

Clean water, available for everyone.
