27th clean water well drilling underway in Mpirani

In the Mpirani settlement, on the grounds of the local PEFA church, our team is currently drilling its 27th well to provide clean, free water. The drilling process has taken three weeks, because much of the ground here is made up of clay and rock layers—conditions that are difficult both for the drilling equipment to pass through and for the pump to draw water from afterward.

To reach proper water-bearing layers, the team had to drill an additional 10+ meters deeper. Water testing is now in progress, and as seen in the photos, people are already coming to collect water—an indication that the need in this area is genuine.

Work is also moving forward above ground: the structure is being completed, a plaque is being installed, and finishing touches are underway. A grand opening is planned for the end of the week.
